When Aleksandar Mileusnić walked onto the Britain’s Got Talent stage in 2018, he didn’t look like a typical star in the making. He introduced himself as a 23-year-old council worker, proudly pointed to his pregnant wife in the audience, and admitted he was hoping this audition could change life for his growing family. 

His song choice raised eyebrows: “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes — normally a rock anthem, not a talent-show ballad. But the moment the band kicked in, Aleksandar flipped the script. He slowed it down, wrapped it in smooth swing and jazzy phrasing, and suddenly the familiar riff became a slick, vintage-style performance. Alesha Dixon called his version “charming, seductive and alluring,” while Amanda Holden joked that it didn’t hurt that he was “cute” too. 

By the final chorus, the audience was on its feet, cheering like they were at a headline show, not an audition. All four judges gave him a standing ovation, and Simon Cowell told him it felt like they were “witnessing a star being born,” praising the way Aleksandar mixed swing, jazz and big-band vibes into something totally fresh. That one performance didn’t just blow the judges away — it introduced a new crooner to millions and proved that even a rock song can sound like pure old-school class in the right hands.
